Privacy Policy
Who we are
Sparrow is operated by Arnold Malinovskij, Vilnius, Lithuania ("we", "us"). If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact sparrowapp.help@gmail.com.
What Sparrow stores on your phone
The answers you give during setup (first name, age range, church background, church attendance, what you are going through, your goals and reminder time), your chat history with Pip, your daily reflections, your streak, and short notes Pip keeps so he can remember you between conversations.
This information stays on your device. We do not keep a copy of your chats, reflections or notes on our servers.
What is sent to our servers when you talk to Pip
When you send Pip a message, your recent messages, your setup answers and Pip's notes about you are sent to our server so Pip can reply. Our server is hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt). It passes the conversation to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates Pip's reply. We do not store the content of your messages on our server.
Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms and privacy policy to provide the service.
To prevent abuse and control costs, our server counts how many messages each install sends per day. For this it uses a random ID created by the app (not your name, phone number or Apple ID) and your IP address. These daily counts are deleted after about 7 days.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist on our website, we store your email address, the date you joined and which link brought you there, in our Supabase database in the European Union. We use it only to tell you when Sparrow launches and to send your early-access gift, based on your consent. To unsubscribe or have it deleted, contact sparrowapp.help@gmail.com.
Notifications
If you allow reminders, they are scheduled on your phone. We do not use a push notification server and do not receive your notification settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive confirmation of whether your subscription is active so we can unlock features.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your conversations for advertising.
Legal basis (EU/EEA users)
We process your data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract) and, for abuse prevention, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and affordable. Information about your faith that you choose to share is processed only to provide the service, on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your data.
Your rights and deleting your data
You can delete everything Sparrow stores on your phone at any time in Settings → Delete all my data, or by deleting the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct or erase your data, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority (in Lithuania, the State Data Protection Inspectorate). Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
Sparrow is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in the EU/EEA. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date below and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
